About the Department
Well equipped laboratory with highly sophisticated equipments. We are the first among the colleges affiliated to Periyar University to have nucleic acid extraction system and Real time PCR instruments. We provide hands on training to students in Biochemistry and enable them to compete at all levels. Our faculties have diverse research expertise and high-impact publications.
Organizing special lectures, symposium, seminars, workshops, quiz programs and various competitions for students. It creates an excellent opportunity for the students to bring out their hidden talents, diverse knowledge and research findings in the leading issues in the field of life sciences.

Candidates for admission to the first year of the Degree of Bachelor of Science under B.Sc. Biochemistry course are required to have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic stream) conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu or an Examination as equivalent to 10 +2 courses including CBSE, which have been recognized by the Periyar University
Bachelors degree in science with Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Nutrition, B. Sc Agriculture and Life sciences as main subject of this University or any other University or any other qualification accepted as equivalent thereto are eligible for admission to M. Sc Biochemistry course.
